Why consider ICT-Sourcing?
First, a definition: ICT is Information and Communications Technology. This is a traditional term for what is now known as IT or Digital.
Clients tell us that they have used most of the big brand sourcing firms and have felt that the results have been disappointing on at least 50% of occasions. Furthermore, some clients are fed up with the 'land and expand' tactics of some firms that have led to 7 figure sourcing fees.
In addition, some clients feel that the current trend for AI driven sourcing methods have lost sight of the bedrock principles of outsourcing.
Most clients have a Procurement team with a sourcing / buying processes connected to existing Finance and Procurement systems, which are often ignored by external sourcing consultants.
We are unashamedly 'old school' sourcing consultants who are happy to use your processes or our process which is built on time-proven publicly available outsourcing guidelines, which we adapt using current best practice methods.
Our ethos is "Traditional and Trusted to deliver Todays Outcomes".
What do we deliver?
We deliver improved probability of sourcing success by embracing and enhancing established and operationally resilient industry good practice and not reinventing the wheel.
Our reference points are ISO 37500 (Guidance on Outsourcing), the Outsourcing Professional Body of Knowledge (OPBoK) and Intelligent IT Outsourcing from the London School of Economics.
These publicly available knowledge sources were developed by top outsourcing professionals (clients, sourcing consultants and suppliers) from around the globe.
We enhance (turbo-charge) the defined processes and templates as set out in the above guidance by blending in the best of current sourcing practices, such as the use of extensive workshops with suppliers.
Furthermore, use of proven sourcing frameworks provides C-Level confidence that 'all of the bases' are being properly considered and applied.
How do we deliver?
We have found that the three outsourcing guidelines that we utilise have the same general structure, see illustration, where:
A is the Preparation work which is includes many touchpoints such as Sourcing Strategy, Business Case, Required Outcomes, Retained Organisation Impact
B is the Supplier Selection
C is Transition where the service / solution is built and
D is operating the Live service, with a three (typical) months warranty period
Many other sourcing approaches focus on Supplier Selection alone. We have developed a Sourcing Plan that integrates the three approaches and also includes current operational resilience best practice in the market place.
Three methods with the same core approach provides a range of interlocking templates and checklists ensuring that all aspects of the the outsourcing project are properly 'triangulated' which provides confidence to the Programme Team and C-Suite.
